History

August 1921

Founded as Ohara Iron Works Co., Ltd. at 5-chome, Ichiokahama-dori, Minato-ku, Osaka.

November 1947

Changed the trade name to Miyako Kagaku Co., Ltd. and started operations at Nitta Building, 8-8 Ginza Nishi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Capital 150,000 yen.Operates as a direct sales company of the former Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co., Ltd.

May 1948

Opened Osaka branch office. (Currently Osaka branch office)

April 1949

Moved head office to Dai-ichi Seimei Building, 3-1 Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

December 1950

Increased capital to 1 million yen.

March 1951

Increased capital to 3 million yen.

September 1952

Moved the head office to Marunouchi Building No. 710, 2-2 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

March 1954

Increased capital to 6 million yen.

October 1954

Merged with Beniya Shoten Co., Ltd.

March 1955

Increased capital to 6.5 million yen.

March 1957

Opened Nagoya branch office. (Currently Nagoya branch office)
Increased capital to 10 million yen.

July 1961

Moved the head office to Chiyoda Building, 2-1-2 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

August 1961

Increased capital to 25 million yen.

March 1963

Increased capital to 50 million yen.

July 1963

Opened Yokkaichi branch office. (Currently Yokkaichi Office)

March 1977

Opened Kyushu Sales Office.

November 1978

Increased capital to 75 million yen.

Opened Yamaguchi Office.

March 1984

Increased capital to 111 million yen.

January 1991

Opened Chiba office.

November 1997

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of its establishment.

November 1999

Moved the head office to New International Building, 3-4-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

April 2008

Became the largest shareholder of Kashiwagi Co., Ltd. (holding ratio 28.69%).

January 2010

The Kyushu Sales Office will be the Kyushu Sales Department of the Osaka Branch.

June 2010

Became a wholly owned subsidiary of Kyowa Hakko Chemical Co., Ltd. (Currently KH Neochem Co., Ltd.)through a share exchange.

November 2010

Moved the head office (no change of address), Osaka branch office, and Nagoya branch office. The Osaka branch office Kyushu sales department was abolished.

January 2011

Merged with Kashiwagi Co., Ltd. Sapporo branch is added.

February 2011

Increased capital to 296 million yen.

July 2013

The Yamaguchi Office will be the Yamaguchi Branch Office of the Head Office Construction Office.

April 2014

The Sapporo branch is designated as the Sapporo Sales Office of the Industrial Materials Department of the head office.

September 2014

Moved the head office to Chiyoda Kaikan, 1-6-17 Kudanminami, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

May 2015

Became a wholly owned subsidiary of Chori Co., Ltd.

March 2016

Moved the Osaka branch office to the Sakaisuji Building, 1-7-3 Awajimachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka.

February 2017

Moved the Yamaguchi branch office of the head office construction room to the Yamaguchi office.

February 2018

Moved the Sapporo Sales Office of the Industrial Materials Department.

August 2021

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding.

March 2023

Closed Yamaguchi office.
